a friend is a friend forever.

Laura Marling is fabulous. I just heard of her this morning through a friend I made when I was little in Australia and I can't stop listening to her. I like her look, her voice, her lyrics, her music videos, her guitar. Yep, I like her.
It took me a while to decide which of her videos to post. It was a toss up between New Romantic and this one, but I think I made a good decision.

you a sundress and i a sweater vest.

I got to speak to Alison for a moment today. How divine!!! Sorry I put my magnificent suede fringe vest in storage dear. There must be so much in there that I should have left with you to babysit. Packing can be so hard though.

what was golden went gray and i'm suddenly shy.

I love tank tops. My heart broke yesterday a little bit when Wonmi said she doesn't think she has ever seen anyone wear a tank top in this area. I don't mind standing out, but I don't like being stared at with too much judgement, it makes me nervous. Goodbye comfort... I need to get over myself.

talking smooth and play by rules, like a lady.

Totally breathtaking!

walking on the sidewalk hotter than a match head.

Over the weekend the temperature went up drastically making me think of reds and other colours on the warm end of the colour spectrum.

the sea will be boiling.

Today Q'orianka Kilcher was on Democracy Now talking about her recent stint of chaining herself to the Whitehouse gate. Knowing now that she is an indigenous Peruvian she must have been pleased with her role as the indigenous Pocahontas. For my part though, I am pleased she was chosen because she has those awesome lips, despite the fact I havn't to see the movie. She is pretty much a babe, and Pocahontas is pretty much my favourite Disney princess ever! I also like that she is now playing a Hawaiian Princess' "unwavering fight to defend the independence of her people". Sounds like she likes to play her real life on the big screen ... or something like that.

let the world turn without you tonight.

Devon Aoki was my favourite model in highschool.Recently I found this great photoshoot by David Mushegain and was reminded how unreal her face is.- listening to: "Everything's alright" Jesus Christ Superstar

short pants, romance, learn to dance.

This summer I knew the peice that I needed to make my heart sing was a nude bodysuit with regular tanktop straps. It seemed like one of those things you just have to go to AA to get. No such luck. I went there and they had nothing that could have a bra worn under it; just racerbacks and lowbacks.I tried several different dance shops and they didn't have what I wanted either. I ended up going back to AA and trying on every single possibility, ready to settle on not being able to wear a proper bra, but they didn't fit anyway. It appears that this girl gets to live the dream without me.In Korea almost no one (at least this early in the season) wears tank tops. So it might have been way over the top inappropriate anyway. Perhaps the fashion goddesses were saving me from have the perfect peice and not being able to wear it.

your one and only pleasure, all decked in lace and leather.

I was recently looking at a "fashion winner" vs "fashion loser" that came up on the msn homepage that pops up when I sign out of my email account. Red carpet style and the cheesy commentary that goes with it is a delightful guilty pleasure. I came across this dress on Naomi Watts and drooled on myself.I'm excited to see her in the new Woody Allen movie. Sometimes she looks really good in clothes, or maybe she is just put in really fantastic clothes. Either way, I like it. A great example of that is her in The Painted Veil when she got a good dose of lacy perfection and florals.

when the sun is out i've got something i can laugh about.

It is stormy and rainy when I look out the window at my parent's house in Kelowna. It seems like summer still hasn't arrived. It has though, it is just being intermittent. I was so lucky that the last 3 days or so in Victoria felt like summer with the dirt under my barefeet and the sun warming my deprived skin. I only had a few days of summer time with my favourite ladyfriend this year, but they were really nice. I'm gonna miss my Ali Sunshine.
