bedtime.

Maybe I always feel this way when I get home from work on Friday evening, but I don't remember ever being happier that I was in bed and that I don't have to get out of it for anything that I don't want to.

ruby red slippers.

Alison's new beauties. Deluxe. Maximum.

this will slip into the sea.

Green velvet on your head is a nice feeling.

i got a letterman's sweater with a letter in front.

Today is labour day (in Canada... I already had mine) which means that this week is back to school. To all you lovely ladies headed back to the books... I'm cheering for you!"My girl will be working on her pom-poms now, and she'll be yelling tonight"

that I had now become a cephalopod.

Eva and I both own skirts very much like this one. We got them in Laos, and they are to die for. We couldn't get over how beautiful all the fabric was and how incredible it was to actually watch women making stuff like this (not that ours are actually hand made). Living in Canada I have always taken fabric for granted, but in a lot of countries where people make their own fabric, it is anything but taken for granted. An hour on a loom and I am forever in awe of women with this skill.
Eva, I hope this inspires you to wear yours! I left mine at home, but look forward to wearing it in the future.

you got so many colours make a blind man so confused.

My last bracelet fell off when I was in Seoul last week. It was sad because it fell off in a really gross bathroom in a mall... so uncerimonious. It is also sad because this is the first time my wrists have been empty in far over a year. That last man standing was from Northern Vietnam and I got it last October. I was really hopeful it would last a whole year, but no such luck. I notice it missing the most when I am drying off after a shower. I no longer have to pat it dry.

Losing it makes me want more... lots more!!! How greedy I can get!

i think you're really mean.

Seeing Ali on the edge of the world makes me a little bit nervous, but it also makes me want to push her off because she is being beautiful and having fun without me. Who said that life was allowed to go on once I left?! Oh, wait... that was me.

she could hear the highway breathing.

I want a rainbow of jean shorts. I am so in love to the max with my turquoise ones. Every time I look in my shorts drawer I wish that there were more colours in there. I'd wear a different colour every day of the week. Dark pink, rich purple, burnt orange, forest green, mustard yellow, seafoam, coral. Oh it would be splendid. These ladies in Barcelona know what is up.

i remember days and crazy nights.

So I'm back from vacation. For once in my life I think I did a good job packing for it. I wore everything I brought except for some tights that I brought in case it got cold (which it majorly did not), and I didn't really feel that I needed anything that I didn't bring. Pat myself on the back for that one. Here are two instances of travel packing glory!- listening to: "Lifetime Piling Up" Talking Heads
This was far and away the song of the trip. Every time we listened to music it was the first song that went on and we constantly sang it on our long walks in the scorching heat. It is pretty darn catchy.

5.7.10

i've travelled 'round through deserts on my horse.

Hey Alison, how is that for some ankle fringe!!!! Too far, I know.... but hilarious! So here is the shoe...

And here are two more peices of inspiration to go with them. They have been sitting on my computer in a file called "beauty" having me drool over them every so often for WAY too long.
Tacky platforms and socks. I approve.

noddin my head like yeah.

I know I just showed an all denim ensemble, but heck.... it looks good!!! I have the most delicious denim onesie that I wore for the first time to a Phoenix concert in DC and I have yet to wear it in Korea. I think next time I go to the cool part of Cheongju near the university I will wear it. People there are more urban and outgoing with thier clothes, so it will likely draw less stares. Once I get my nerve up I want to wear it more.
This denim cut out shirt on model Hanneli Mustaparta is actually a bodysuit! This is a totally silly outfit and I like it.

oh shit, am I supposed to be emarrassed about that? but it's "so hard with my girls not around me" --- welcome to my blog Eva!

I got to speak to Alison for a moment today. How divine!!! Sorry I put my magnificent suede fringe vest in storage dear. There must be so much in there that I should have left with you to babysit. Packing can be so hard though.

when the sun is out i've got something i can laugh about.

It is stormy and rainy when I look out the window at my parent's house in Kelowna. It seems like summer still hasn't arrived. It has though, it is just being intermittent. I was so lucky that the last 3 days or so in Victoria felt like summer with the dirt under my barefeet and the sun warming my deprived skin. I only had a few days of summer time with my favourite ladyfriend this year, but they were really nice. I'm gonna miss my Ali Sunshine.
